2009 Master Composter training

Become a MASTER COMPOSTER! Get involved and have fun volunteering in the community. Learn all about composting and then teach others. Training involves ten Wednesday evening classes from February 11 – April 29 (no class March 18) and related volunteer work. Application deadline is Friday, January 30. WHAT: 2009 Master Composter Training

Master Composters are enthusiastic community volunteers that are committed to promoting responsible composting in Tompkins County. The training program covers all aspects of composting, including the basic science, systems and methods for indoor and outdoor composting, troubleshooting, how to assess and use mature compost, and diverse outreach methods. Following completion of the training program, Master Composters give time back to the community in a wide variety of outreach activities and independent projects. If you are interested in protecting the environment, improving gardens, reducing waste, and having fun with a lively group, then consider joining us!
